Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for drawing blood samples from patients for medical or clinical testing, transfusions, donations, or research.
Duties:
- Perform venipuncture and skin punctures competently and expediently.
- Collect, label, and safely store blood samples.
- Verify patient information and maintain accurate records of tests performed.
- Follow proper protocols for patient identification and specimen labeling.
- Utilize aseptic techniques during specimen collection processing.
- Interact with patients to provide information and ensure comfort during procedures.
Skills:
- Proficient in phlebotomy techniques including venipuncture and capillary puncture.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to understand the best methods for blood sampling.
- Familiarity with different types of blood collection tubes and additives.
- Ability to perform vital sign measurements accurately.
- Strong communication skills for effective patient service.
- Understanding of laboratory procedures related to specimen collection and processing.
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate labeling and tracking of specimens.
