Job Details PRIMARY FUNCTION: To collect, sort, distribute mail and packages in a timely fashion according to set procedure and utilize postal equipment to apply appropriate postage. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Receive and process incoming and outgoing U.S. mail and packages and Interoffice mail and packages. Complete lookup and return mail processes via Workday, Outlook, Medical Dental Staff or other software applications. Prepare and deliver mail and packages to hospital departments and mail stops. Pick up outgoing mail and packages for delivery to hospital locations and post office. Prepares, processes and logs certified and express mail. Processes presorted mail for presort vendor. Operates mail machine. Weighs and meters appropriate classes of outgoing USPS mail. Effectively communicate with hospital staff of important/pending deliveries. Create labels and rosters using Word and Excel. Delivers outgoing USPS mail to loading dock for USPS pickup. Rotate between Christiana, Wilmington and other Materiel locations. Assist with training new employees and interns. Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices. Reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, concerns, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors. Performs other related duties as required.
