The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements of this job:
Education and Formal Training: graduate of a two-year college-level program approved by the American PT Association or has two years of appropriate experience as a PTA and has achieved a satisfactory grade on a proficiency exam conducted, approved or sponsored by the U.S. Public Health Service. Licensed as a physical therapy assistant in North Carolina.
Work Experience: Minimum of one year experience as a physical therapist assistant.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Demonstrates a high level of mental and emotional tolerance and even temperament when dealing with ill people; uses tact, sensitivity, sound judgment and a professional attitude when relating with patients, families, and co-workers at all times. Actively functions as a patient advocate. Must develop knowledge of current home care emergency policies and procedures, fire, safety, disaster, and infection control policies.
