Job Purpose/Summary

This person is instrumental in aligning business objectives with technical solutions by gathering, analyzing, and documenting requirements, facilitating clear communication between stakeholders and development teams throughout the project lifecycle. They collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical specifications, support testing efforts, and identify opportunities for process improvement. By managing risks, change requests, and stakeholder relationships, they ensure that software projects meet user needs, adhere to regulatory requirements, and deliver value to the organization. Deep domain knowledge enables them to provide informed guidance and recommendations, contributing to the success of software development initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Requirement Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs, eliciting and documenting detailed requirements for software projects or enhancements.
  • Analysis and Documentation: Analyze gathered requirements, identifying gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement. Document requirements in clear, concise, and unambiguous terms using tools such as use cases, user stories, and process flows.
  • Communication: Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and development teams, ensuring clear communication of requirements, expectations, and project status throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Solution Design: Work with development teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and solution designs. Ensure alignment between business objectives and proposed technical solutions.
  • Testing Support: Collaborate with QA teams to develop test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria based on documented requirements. Support testing efforts by clarifying requirements and validating software functionality.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the quality of software solutions through proactive analysis and feedback.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and dependencies early in the project lifecycle. Work with stakeholders to mitigate risks and develop contingency plans to address issues as they arise.
  • Change Management: Facilitate the management of change requests, assessing the impact on existing requirements, schedules, and budgets. Ensure that changes are properly documented, approved, and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
  • Domain Knowledge: Develop a deep understanding of the business domain, including industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements, to provide informed guidance and recommendations.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders, development teams, and other project participants to foster collaboration and ensure project success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science (CS), Computer Information Systems (CIS), Electrical Engineering Technology (EET), or Electronics & Computer Technology (ECT) or equivalent work experience
  • 3 Years Minimum Business Analyst experience
  • Experience with Agile development.
  • Experience with Web Apps, and Native Mobile Apps (iOS and Android)
  • Experience with JIRA Software preferred.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently in remote or office environment with little direct supervision.

Working conditions

Should be willing to work in a variety of settings as needed. Flexible to work long hours as required.

Physical requirements

Prolonged periods of remaining in a stationary position at a desk and working on a computer.
