Job Impulse is Hiring a Controls Technician Near Whitehall, MI
The PositionPrimary responsibilities include:
- support of production and plant operations by planning, coordinating and perform all operations required to install, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, modify, construct, calibrate, test, service and programing of complex control systems.
- Work involves a high to intermediate level of knowledge of programmable logic controllers, industrial controls devices, electrical wiring, principles of operations and application of equipment.
- Communicate effectively with production department employees to understand their issues related to the manufacturing equipment.
- Work with Maintenance and operations for preventive maintenance
- Resolve complex issues with manufacturing equipment to include but not limited to Siemens Step 7 PLC, Allen Bradly Studio 5000 and older, Servo drives, AC and DC frequency Drives, Safety circuit, and all other controls systems.
- Work with Engineering to help design and implement of control system to maximize machine productivity and product quality.
- Call in after normal hours to assist shift maintenance to resolve complex issues if needed.
- Analyze breakdowns to understand how to prevent reoccurrence.
- Observe the operation of all equipment for issues that might cause breakdown or loss of efficiency.
- Other tasks as requested.
- Minimum of an Associate degree in related field, (Bachelor’s degree preferred) or actively working toward a Bachelor’s degree, and or 2 year technical school degree related to manufacturing controls
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with PLC controls, Siemens preferred (including Schooling)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with servo drives and process controls (including Schooling)
- Basic computer skills to be able to use programs for work related processes such as Microsoft office, studio 5000, Step 7, servo controls and Auto Cad
