Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Microbiology Technician to join our team. The Microbiology Technician will be responsible for performing laboratory procedures, conducting scientific research, and ensuring quality control in a clinical laboratory setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology, FDA regulations, and veterinary terminology.
Duties:
- Perform microbiological testing on various samples using laboratory equipment and techniques
- Conduct molecular biology techniques such as DNA extraction, PCR, and gel electrophoresis
- Follow established protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for sample preparation and analysis
- Collect and record data accurately and maintain detailed laboratory records
- Ensure compliance with FDA regulations and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
- Assist in the development and validation of new laboratory methods
- Perform quality control checks on equipment and reagents to ensure accuracy of results
- Collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot issues and optimize laboratory processes
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or related field
- Strong knowledge of microbiological techniques, laboratory procedures, and scientific research methods
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology is preferred
- Experience working in a clinical laboratory setting is highly desirable
- Knowledge of FDA regulations and GLP is required
- Proficient in data collection, analysis, and interpretation
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow protocols accurately
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
Note: All positions must be paid, including internship positions.
