Specific Duties:

• Plan and implement instruction using the Creative Curriculum, Florida State Standards and Assessment Data
• Establish an enriching, safe, and clean classroom and playground environment.
• Demonstrate effective age appropriate class management.
• Student recordkeeping (attendance, grades, progress reports, portfolios, etc.)
• Create purposeful lesson plans using the Creative Curriculum & State standards
• Familiarity with the STAR Assessments
• Ability to use sound judgment and tact when dealing with children and parents.

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree or 2 years as a private school teacher
• 45 hours of HRS mandated course within a year of employment
• Physical Exam
• VECHS and DCF level 2 background screening (required)
• Ability to perform job as teacher of small children and assure safety.
• Willingness to continually increase knowledge in the field.
• Demonstrates the following qualities: self motivation, self direction, as well as, creative, reliable, and professional.
• Speak & write fluently in English

• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
• Ability to use sound judgment and tact when dealing with children and parents.
• Maintain an open line of communication with parents and provide information when necessary.
• Assess students’ performance to ensure they are mastering age-appropriate skills.
• Monitor children’s interactions, and nurture cooperation, learning, and sharing.
• Cooperate with administration and staff.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
