About the role:

To determine specific learning disabilities or emotional disabilities by conducting psychological evaluations; to provide clinical consultations and other related services.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer, interpret, and write up psychological evaluations including cognitive, academic, learning and memory perceptual-organizational and projective testing.
  • Coordinate efforts with the Program Directors and lead teachers to ensure that all treatment-related aspects of each IEP are addressed consistently and modified when appropriate.
  • Provide in-school counseling services in a 1:1 or small group setting as deemed appropriate.
  • Provide recommendations for educational strategies and modifications, and/or techniques.
  • Seek creative options for ensuring the continuity and consistency of treatment and support services across settings.
  • Provide consultation, training, and assistance to Program Directors, the teachers and service providers and member districts as requested.
  • Conduct structured periodic service reviews to monitor the effectiveness of treatment programs and their implementation; modify and document plan changes as needed.
  • Participate in the Individual Education Program (IEP) team meetings process for students as appropriate.
  • Consult with general and special education staff on accommodations and/or modifications to help students progress and succeed.
  • Participate in professional growth activities such as conferences, classes, team meetings and program visitations.
  • Provide in-service training for teachers and peers.
  • Coordinate organizational assessments tools utilized through the evaluation process.
  • Accept all other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director.

Candidate requirements:

  • Master's degree in Psychology
  • Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education license as a School Psychologist, All levels.
  • Experience in School Psychology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professionalism and discretion.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolong periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed.
