JOB DESCRIPTION:

Parts Runners working for O'Gara Coach are expected to partner with our Parts and Service Department teams and dealership management to deliver superior service. 

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED

• Take accurate notes on vehicle condition

• One (1) year experience in an automotive parts department

• Follow proper and explicit instructions

• Professional appearance and disposition

• Outstanding customer service skills

• Strong communication skills; listening

• Must be a team player 

• Valid California driver’s license; insurable

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Deliver parts to Technicians

•Assist with inventory control and cycle counting

•Pull purchases from stock. If the part is not in stock, determine availability and submit an emergency order if requested by the customer

•Pick up and/or deliver parts to designated areas when instructed by management

•Ensure the cleanliness of the Parts Department by disposing of used boxes and trash, sweeping floors and dusting parts bins daily

•Answer Parts Department phones when the front counter personnel are overloaded

•Keep current on new products and product updates

•Participate in all training programs that are made available 

•Crate all cores for shipment back to the manufacturer when a part has been replaced

•Assist the Detail Department in washing cars when shorthanded

•Helps push cars into shop when they cannot be started

•Must follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor

•Regularly work 45-50 hours per week; regularly work Saturdays and occasionally during evening hours; and occasionally travel between dealership locations as needed

•Tool and Equipment Operation: Performs basic maintenance on company vehicles to aid in productivity 

•Posture: prolonged sitting; regular walking; work standing; regular kneeling and squatting; regular bending and stooping; regular pushing, pulling, and twisting; operation of automobiles on private and public roadways; moving vehicles in and out of service bay and on/off service a car lift

•Motion: reaching with hands and arms; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; climbing or balancing; repetitive hand motion; frequent keyboarding, including use of mouse; frequent grasping and squeezing; wrist flexion and extension

•Lift / Maneuver: frequently lift and/or move from 30 to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds

•Sight / Speech: specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus; speak and communicate, both over the phone and in-person, with customers and fellow employee

•Mental: the mental characteristics necessary to competently perform this job include, but are not limited to, the occasional need to use instructing abilities, and imagination; memory; reading and writing ability; continuously be alert, precise, resourceful, and continually use problem solving skills; requires concentration, creativity, and good judgment; ability to work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
