Nashoba Valley Technical High School is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Custodian. Located in Westford, MA, Nashoba Valley Technical High School serves students from our district towns of Ayer, Chelmsford, Groton, Littleton, Pepperell, Shirley, Townsend, and Westford, Massachusetts.This is a full-time, twelve month, Monday through Friday position Hours are as follows:* Probationary period first 60 days on the 1st shift - 7:00am to 3:30pm with a 30 minute unpaid/duty free lunch* After probationary period, hours may shift to 2nd shift - 2:30pm to 11:00pm with a 30 minute unpaid/duty free lunchCustodian Job FunctionsPerform all cleaning tasks inside and outside school buildings, including sweeping, using vacuum cleaner, mopping, scrubbing, stripping, buffing, sealing and waxing floors, and dustingMoving and arranging furniture, equipment, draperies, and storage equipmentRemoving wastepaper and other materials and emptying waste receptacles inside and outside of the buildingReplacing light bulbsPerform routine maintenance on lavatory equipment, including unstopping plugged fixturesRemoving ice and snow from school grounds and roof decks, salting and sandingLocking and unlocking facility and securing facility when leaving the building vacant, including setting alarmsUnloading and storing supplies and equipmentPicking up and delivering suppliesRegular and prompt attendanceOccasional minor electrical work, carpentry, plumbing and paintingPerforming security functions as neededDriving forklift on intermittent basisDriving school vehicles as neededSuch other duties as may from time to time be assigned by the Director of Facilities or Night Shift Supervisor
