Description
Our Client is seeking a Network Administrator to join their corporate team in Westchester, IL via a 6 month consulting engagement. The opportunity is slated for 6 months initially and the goal is to eventually have this person convert.
This highly visible position will be responsible for handling front line triage for various network and system related issues. The position will work closely with the Supervisor of Systems Operations, our offshore team and other System Administrators to maintain uptime, fulfill requests, and remediate issues that would lead to the degradation or interruption of business operations. The candidate will provide analysis and understanding around issues faced by our more technical customers and in the event, they are unable to execute on the item they will need to direct them to the appropriate location. The candidate will need to be able to work in a team and with customers in a calm and collected manner with emphasis on timely resolution. Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate technical prowess and leadership by way of potentially mentoring teammates, creating technical documents, and staying abreast of current industry trends.
Key Responsibilities

• Deployment, maintenance and support of all branch network equipment from a tier 2 perspective.
• Upgrading and maintaining the data and voice circuits at branches and service centers.
• Presuming “On-call” responsibilities on rotational basis with other network admins. Can include afterhours work.
• Execute against incident/request on daily basis in compliance with business defined SLAs.
• Deployment of standard network changes in data center infrastructure during maintenance windows.
• Deployment of IT infrastructure for remote locations (greenfields/ relocation/remodel/expansion).
• Work with vendor in deployment/testing/maintenance of portable network infrastructure.
• Regular maintenance and improvement of run-books (technical/troubleshooting) provided to operational vendors.
• Receiving continued training on support of new technologies designed and deployed by network engineers.
• Configuring and dispatching replacement equipment to branches and managing spare inventory.
• Maintenance and improvement of alerting on internal monitoring systems.
• Understanding the network infrastructure at data center and branches to help troubleshooting.
• Troubleshooting of Microsoft platforms such as Windows Server Platforms (2008, 2012, & 2016), Exchange 2013 & 2016, and Active Directory.
• Maintaining and supporting virtualization technologies such as Vmware Vsphere 5.x or higher.
• Experience with enterprise level ticketing systems. Service Now preferred.
• Serve as an escalation point for other team members.
• “Product Owner” of a technology such as SCCM, Vonage, etc.
• Expertise in 1 or more vertical such as network, systems, etc.
• Ability to engage with system/network engineering teams to troubleshoot issues
