The mission of the West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG) is to 'Serve West Point and the Long Gray Line'. WPAOG is both the alumni association and foundation for the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point. Our vision is to ensure the Long Gray Line remains the most highly connected alumni body in the world. USMA is renowned as the world's preeminent leadership development institution. The student body, or Corps of Cadets, numbers 4,400, and each year approximately 1,000 cadets graduate and are commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army.
The WPAOG is seeking an Engagement Manager for the Alumni Support Department. This position plays a pivotal role in enhancing the engagement and support of parents of West Point cadets and Shared Interest Groups. The Engagement Manager will work closely with the Director of Alumni Services to develop and execute strategies that foster a sense of community and involvement among these groups, ultimately contributing to the success of cadets and the mission of the U.S. Military Academy. The Manager will provide administrative, engagement, and technical support to West Point Parents Clubs and Shared Interest Groups.
The Manager will be responsible of various administrative and technical tasks as needed including: maintaining and updating electronic records; running queries and reports; maintaining e-mail listservs; creating and assisting in the maintenance of group webpages; monitoring and maintaining department files; updating and maintaining WPAOG calendar with events; creating, monitoring, and compiling surveys; updating and ordering print materials; mailing documents as needed; coordinating and running webinars, conference calls, and meetings; promoting programs; performing administrative and hosting duties related to events and programs. The Manager is responsible for various event management and will be the subject matter expert for administration of technology platforms for these groups, including similar shared interest groups at Army A-Club. Content preparation, presentation, and attendance at the annual Leaders Conference and Football Open Houses is required.
The Manager is expected to be knowledgeable of all USMA and WPAOG activities and programs; meet deadlines as required; have experience setting priorities and successfully managing multiple projects of varying complexity and urgency simultaneously; and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
A High School diploma is required, and a Bachelor Degree and corporate experience are desired. At least two years of demonstrated professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Customer service, marketing, or sales experience preferred. Above average knowledge of Microsoft Office, ability to multitask, and attention to detail are required. Familiarity with military culture is preferred.
