Hyundai Transys Georgia Seating System is Hiring a Quality Team Member Near West Point, GA

Summary of Position:

The Quality Team Member position performs in an environment that is fast paced, involving repetitive quality-related tasks on a seat manufacturing assembly line, and in receiving and shipping areas, using tools and devices where tolerances and requirements are specific to ensure the highest quality at all times

Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Assist the Quality Department in maintaining highest quality of all parts, products and finished goods at all times
  • Inspect finished product(s) before sending to next department or holding area
  • Perform layered audit and quality checks
  • Write detailed quality reports as needed
  • Review production or processing issues with the Supervisors as needed
  • Work with various departments’ Supervisors and Managers in setting and monitoring product standards, examining samples of raw products or directing testing during processing, to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality
  • Ability to review parts and make determinations if they pass/fail the quality standards
  • Assist in the set-up and calibration of gauging and measuring devices; train floor associates on using gauges and measuring devices
  • Track parts and scrap
  • Package finished products and prepare them for shipment as needed
  • Rotate through all the tasks required in a particular production process
  • Ensure 5-S is adhered to properly
  • Performs any variety of operations within the group to maintain flow of work
  • Follow requirements of Quality policies and standards, such as, ISO 9001, TS16949, IATF16949
  • Follow all environmental, health, and safety policies
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must have broad knowledge of quality systems including TS16949, ISO and QS; continuous improvement, Kaizen, 5-S, lean manufacturing, KANBAN, TPS
  • Must have quality experience in an assembly and manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to pass X Rite color hue test
  • 1 year of experience is required

Technical/ Computer Skills:

  • Must be able to identify visual defects and assist in making quality decisions
  • Must be able to properly use quality gages, tools, and devices
  • Must have good problem solving skills
  • Must have good interpersonal and communication skills required
  • Must be proficient skills in math, reading and writing

  • Regularly required to talk and hear
  • Heavy walking and standing throughout the shift
  • Frequently required to bend at the knees and waist
  • Required to use hands to type, handle objects and paperwork
  • Required to use hands to type, write, handle objects, boxes, equipment, tools and paperwork
  • Required to reach and hold on to items at chest level or reach above the shoulder
  • May be required to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • May be required to wear safety Personal Protective Equipment for eyes, face, head, feet, hearing, hands and arms.
  • Required to use close vision, peripheral vision, focus and see colors as required to read equipment and material labels, color-coded inventory, computer terminal screens, etc.
  • Be willing to travel for training if required (domestic/international)
  • Ability to work overtime and/or weekends as required
  • Ability to work a fixed or rotating schedule

The employee generally works in warehouse and indoor office environments but occasionally works outside, in all types of weather and on uneven terrain.
