TREE Academy is Hiring an Art Teacher Near West Hollywood, CA

We are seeking a unique and versatile Art Teacher to join our small independent school in West Hollywood. As the school's Art Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging art instruction across various disciplines, including ceramics, digital art, drawing, painting, and potentially other art forms. Your passion for the arts and your ability to inspire creativity in students of all ages will be invaluable in fostering a vibrant artistic community within our school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development: Design and implement a diverse and well-rounded art curriculum that covers multiple disciplines, ensuring a balanced approach to teaching various art forms.
  • Classroom Instruction: Conduct dynamic and interactive art classes that cater to students with varying skill levels and interests, providing constructive feedback to help them improve their artistic abilities.
  • Skill Development: Offer guidance and instruction on fundamental techniques and concepts in ceramics, digital art, drawing, painting, fabric arts, and other relevant art forms.
  • Artistic Exploration: Encourage students to explore their creativity and express themselves through various art mediums, nurturing their individual artistic voices.
  • Art History and Appreciation: Introduce students to significant artists, art movements, and historical contexts to deepen their understanding and appreciation of art.
  • Studio Maintenance: Oversee the organization and cleanliness of art studios, ensuring a safe and conducive environment for artistic expression.
  • Art Exhibitions and Events: Coordinate and participate in art exhibitions, showcases, and school-wide events to celebrate students' artistic achievements and foster a sense of pride in their work.
  • Collaborative Engagement: Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate art concepts into cross-curricular projects and support interdisciplinary learning experiences.
  • Student Assessments: Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to track students' progress and provide tailored guidance for their artistic development.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience and expertise in teaching multiple art disciplines, such as ceramics, digital art, drawing, painting, fabric arts, etc.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing your personal artistic achievements and versatility across different mediums.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and inspire students.
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for nurturing young artists.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with varying learning styles and abilities.
  • Prior experience teaching in an educational setting, preferably in a middle or high school. Also open to recent graduates from Art school who have experience teaching in an art college

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
