Job Description:

Insight Global is looking to bring on a Buyer for a Manufacturing company in West Hartford, CT that will sit onsite 5x a week. On a day to day the candidate will be responsible for Establishing controls to assure availability of supplies, services and materials at the lowest possible cost consistent with quality and delivery requirements. They will Comply with all internal, federal, and state laws and procedures in the processing and administration of purchase orders, as well as determine potential sources of supply. They will also be responsible for negotiating costs, special terms and conditions and delivery. The candidate needs to maintain and update approved Vendor List to expand sources of supply. Maintain Small and Disadvantaged business participation to meet annual goal. (Military only) and conduct visits in vendor audits.

This position can pay an hourly wage of 30-35/hr depending on years of experience.

• 5 years’ experience purchasing in a metal working industry e.g. Manufacturing Engineering, Cost Accounting, Production Control, etc.
• Experience in Aerospace, Automotive, or Defense Industries strongly desired.
• Experience procuring complex machined parts.
• Ability to read blueprints and experience with mechanical and technical manufacturing processes.
• General understanding of business accounting, R.O.I. methods, electronic data processing techniques.
• Negotiating skills.
• Exposure to value analysis techniques.
• Exposure to state and federal procurement desirable.
