What you will do

In this vital role, you will be Under the direction of the site Electrical Maintenance Manager in the utility department, the Electrical Apprentice is responsible for assisting in the performance of electrical system operation and maintenance activities throughout the ARI site. Admin Shift 6:45 AM - 3:00 PM (The shift will change to a 12hour rotating day or night shift per Amgen’s discretion)
Support the Amgen Licensed Electricians on daily routine Electrical work
Assist with the operation and maintenance of backup power/emergency power generation systems and Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS).
Perform basic troubleshooting and assist with the repair of electrical equipment and systems.
Support operation and maintenance of Building Fire Alarm systems including assisting with the operation of the system and troubleshooting activities.
Interpret and update loop sheets, electrical schematics, P&ID, I/O wiring, and panel drawings.
Ensure activities are accomplished in a safe manner.
Identify waste, workflow interrupters, and other opportunities for improvement, recommend solutions, and assist with implementation.

Basic Qualifications:
Associate degree OR
High school diploma / GED and 2 years of electrical maintenance experience OR
Certification that is directly related to the role and 2 years of electrical maintenance experience
Preferred Qualifications:
3 years of combined education, training, and experience in industrial electric operations and maintenance and instrumentation/measurement and controls
Ability and desire to work to acquire Rhode Island Class M Electrician License
Ability to optimally communicate ideas through verbal and written form
Effective digital literacy
Ability to interact constructively with peers/teams
Receptive to mentorship and technical advice from others

The annual salary range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $57,958 - $70,678.
