The Crisis Intervention Specialist supports school counselors and staff by providing crisis intervention services in addressing suspicions and or disclosures of abuse and or neglect from students.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assist all school staff to properly report any disclosures or suspicions of child abuse and/or neglect in making hotline calls, providing support and insuring successful completion.
2. Provide support, resources to teachers and school staff to help with reporting abuse and/or neglect of a student.
3. Provide Mandated Reporter Trainings to professional in the community.
4. Develop proper trainings for school staff to educate on how to respond to students’ disclosures.
5. Assist and support school staff with addressing questions/concerns after a prevention education program or a crisis situation.
6. Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, local agencies, and provide developed and approved programs.
7. Assist in delivering Strengthening Families Program to families in the community.
8. Maintain data and statistics for reporting purposes.
9. Research and update curriculum to ensure best practice.
10. Attend community meetings, as needed.
11. Serve as a representative of the agency.
12. Complete monthly billing for the assigned grant.
13. Participate in regular supervision meetings.
14. Attend office and community meetings as well as trainings as requested by supervisor.
15. Other duties as assigned.
Experience/Qualifications:
Minimum bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice. Experience in social service field (social work, psychology, trauma studies). Experience working with children of various ages. Candidate should possess strong organizational skills, have the ability to multitask and have a strong commitment to client services. Candidate must have the ability to work independently as well as part of a larger team.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
