Covia is looking for a dynamic Millwright who will have a positive impact on the Operations team at its Wedron Silica location in Wedron, IL.

The successful incumbent will have the following Key Accountabilities: 

  • Work in a safe manner and abide by all Covia and MSHA safety rules, regulations and best practices.
  • Maintain plant equipment in good and safe working condition that assures continuous smooth plant operation
  • Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
  • Dismantle machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools
  • Move and install machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks
  • Assemble and install equipment using hand tools and power tools
  • Construct foundation for machines, using hand tools and building materials
  • Align machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rulers, micrometers, and plumb bobs
  • Assemble machines, and bolts, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structure
  • Repair and lubricates machines and equipment
  • Replace, install, and wire electrical components such as motor, feeders, etc.
  • Check monitor and maintain proper fluid levels on all mobile equipment. Grease bucket pins and boom arm at the end of shift

The successful incumbent will have the following Minimum Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 5 years of experience required.
  • Ability to arc weld
  • Ability to lift 10-15 pounds as needed
