City of Waynesboro is Hiring an Utility Worker Near Waynesboro, VA

The City of Waynesboro Public Works Department seeks individuals for the Utility Worker position.

What You’ll Do:
Perform semi-skilled labor in various maintenance, installation, repair, construction, or related work. Work is revolved around maintaining the City’s infrastructure/ facilities and utilities. This position is vital to keeping the City fully functional. A successful candidate will operate motorized vehicles, and non-specialized equipment, and assist with the maintenance of traffic controls. Specific position duties depend on the department. Positions are available for Sewer, Streets, Water, and Traffic.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • No experience is required, will train the right candidate
  • Physically capable of heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, crawling, and the use of general hand tools and specialized equipment

Starting salary for a Utility Worker I of 14.00/HR with the potential for pay increases for acquiring additional skills and or/education.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.00 per week
