What You’ll Do

As a key member of the Operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring operational excellence and upholding safety standards, with a strong focus on promoting a positive work culture. Success in this role will require exceptional interpersonal skills and proficiency in problem-solving. As a Terminal Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Coordinating the logistical aspects of truck, rail carriers, and support staff to align with plant production and inventory targets.
  • Organizing appropriate resources for transporting manufactured vehicles to designated retailers within specified timeframes.
  • Regularly engaging with customers to understand objectives and shipping targets, then communicating effectively with all relevant parties to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Ensuring that support resources adequately complement the transportation process.
  • Recording all data transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining the highest quality standards to minimize damage and prevent losses during vehicle handling.
  • Overseeing safety and quality control for all services and shipping activities, implementing continuous improvement measures as necessary.
  • Ensuring compliance with company safety targets.
  • Generating accurate and timely reports for computer systems, customers, and operations as required.
  • Performing personnel functions such as selection, training, and investigations.
  • Flexibility to adapt to various tasks and duties to support operational needs.
  • Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to achieving competing targets regardless of circumstances, obstacles, or time constraints.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in managing, auditing, and interpreting large volumes of data across multiple systems.
  • Possess expertise in interpreting and administering Collective Bargaining Agreements.
  • Computer proficiency essential, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills, including active listening, effective verbal and written communication, negotiation, coaching, and conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in logical reasoning, applying general principles to specific issues, and generating sensible solutions.
  • Demonstrated capability to motivate, develop, train, and supervise individuals, ensuring optimal task allocation.
  • Strong aptitude for effective time management.
  • Must hold a current, valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass drug screening and criminal background check.

Physical Demands of the Job

  • Work in various indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Perform various manual tasks such as ascending/descending ladders, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, twisting, crouching, and reaching, all of which may be repetitive.
  • Work and stand for extended periods, at times on concrete and uneven surfaces.
  • Work in proximity to hazardous materials, loud noise, and/or extreme temperatures.
  • Operate vehicles or mobile equipment as required.
  • Occasional travel for meetings, onsite visits, customer locations, or other business-related purposes.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, standard operating procedures, work instructions, procedure manuals, and policies.
  • Comfortably wear personal protective equipment.
  • Frequently navigate a busy environment.
  • Display clear vision and physical agility required for performing the duties associated with the role.

Additional Information 

  • This position requires the employee to be onsite full-time. 
  • A person applying for this position must be available to work up to 40 hours per week as required. 
  • As an employee, you will be responsible for retaining a valid driver's license, free from any drug or alcohol-related driving convictions or reckless driving and always remain “insurable” while operating company owned or controlled vehicles.
