We are seeking a LEAD RESPIRATORY THERAPIST in Wausau, WI at Aspirus Wausau Hospital who provides respiratory and cardiopulmonary monitoring, diagnostics and therapy services under medical direction to patients in a variety of care environments. Assists in orientation and training of hospital staff, students and the public regarding respiratory disease and care. Provides respiratory care to patients of all ages, including neonates, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Interprets patient information and understands treatment needs depending on the age of patients under care. Whenever applicable, demonstrates understanding of the needs of specific age groups in terms of their physical and motor development, psychosocial development and intellectual/language development.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of respiratory care standards and protocols acquired through graduation of an AMA approved school of Respiratory Care with an Associate Degree in Science.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Care or Biological Sciences beneficial.
• Three years’ experience in respiratory care, two of which are critical care experience beneficial.
• Previous supervisory and computer experience beneficial.
• Active membership in the American Association for Respiratory Care beneficial.
• Registered RRT by the National Board of Respiratory Care is desired.

LICENSURE

• An active Wisconsin Respiratory Care Practitioner license required.
• Successful completion and maintenance of ACLS, PALS, and NRP.

Hours: .9 full-time, 72 hours every 2 weeks. Night shift (6:30pm – 7am), every 3rd weekend, 3 holidays per year
