Purpose of the Position

The position is responsible for providing safe and accurate prescription order entry, utilizing pharmacy software, and quality dispensing of medications under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.

Education and Experience Requirements

Required:

Data entry and keyboarding experience

Preferred:

One to three years Pharmacy Technician or related experience

Current certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepares, fills and packages/labels medication orders accurately and efficiently.

Maintains proper storage conditions for pharmaceuticals.

Receives and stores incoming medications and/or supplies, verify against invoices, and inform pharmacist(s) of stock needs and shortages.

Cleans and helps maintain equipment and work areas.

Delivers and/or picks up medication(s) and/or order(s) from designated nursing stations.

Proficient with pharmacy and wholesaler software.

Performs inventory of assigned areas.

Maintains regular and predictable on-site attendance.

Other Responsibilities:
