Description

Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, directly supervises custodial staff, prepares work schedules to ensure coverage for cleaning and maintenance of all Salud facilities, and oversees ordering of all cleaning and maintenance supplies. This position monitors all requests for service and repairs ensuring prompt completion of repairs and projects including overseeing outside service and repair vendors and contractors. The Facilities Supervisor is also responsible for delivering evaluations to the custodial staff, for training of new employees and safety matters and, together with the Facilities Manager, works with the Union on various issues. This position also performs facility maintenance and custodial duties as directed.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Directly supervises the custodial staff including preparation of evaluation and handling disciplinary actions. Assist in hiring/termination(s) of custodian staff.
2. Responsible to review/approve time sheets and PTO of custodial staff.
3. Manages work schedules for all custodial staff to ensure coverage of all Salud facilities. 
4. Oversees inventory of all cleaning and maintenance supplies ensuring maintenance of adequate supplies and proper ordering procedures.
5. Ensures that excellent sanitation, infection control, and safety techniques are followed.
6. Monitors storage areas to see that they are properly maintained and accessible. Reports any problems to Facilities Manager.
7. Responsible for ensuring security of agency facilities including security doors, locks and managing the security alarm procedures and acting as direct contact for after hour calls. Assigns alarm codes as necessary.
8. Assists the Management Team with the ordering, maintenance and storage of emergency and disaster services supplies.
9. Monitors the maintenance logs for all agency equipment including automobiles.
10. Coordinates all requests for service or repair and ensures timely response and resolution.
11. Oversees outside service and repair vendors and contractors.
12. Prepares and delivers evaluations for all custodial staff.
13. Trains custodial staff in proper methods of cleaning, maintenance and safety.
14. Meets with Union on various matters as directed by Facilities Manager. 
15. Maintains a neat, dust-free, and hygienic clinic environment by regularly cleaning all surfaces, floors, carpets, walls, vents, etc., in every room, including mopping floors and sterilizing counters.
16. Maintains office sites in excellent physical condition, cleaning all bathrooms, kitchens, carpets, floors, and surfaces.
17. Regularly stocks and replaces maintenance and janitorial items as necessary.
18. Moves heavy items as required.
19. Makes repairs, completes carpentry projects and installs furniture as required.
20. Assists Facilities Manager in monitoring workplace for hazardous, ergonomic and safety situations.
21. Monitors work related injuries, causes and preventions within the custodial staff.
22. Train custodial staff on Salud policies and procedures.
23. Maintains strictness confidentiality all Salud projects and business.
24. Performs other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Bilingual Spanish/English
• Three (3) years’ supervisory experience, preferably supervising custodial/maintenance personnel in a union environment.
• Two (2) years’ basic carpentry and repair experience
• Strong computer skills including experience in researching maintenance techniques and inventory management.
•  Ability to travel to all Salud locations with own vehicle and must possess a valid CA drivers’ license and automobile insurance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• General knowledge of construction methods including plumbing, electrical and carpentry.
• General knowledge of building and equipment maintenance best practices.
• General knowledge of security and safety procedures.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Independent thinker with high degree of ethics and dependability.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Standing walking, sitting, typing, reaching, considerable strenuous physical exertion such as repeated lifting and/or carrying of items weighing 50 pounds or greater.
• Standing for long periods of time.
• Crawling in attics.
• Moving furniture or heavy equipment.

SALARY & BENEFITS:

Salary: $68,950.31 - $83,809.53
