Position:( Manufacturing) Laser Programmer

Reports to: Departmental Supervisor

Overview: The laser Programmer will play a pivotal part in crafting machining processes and programs to produce various products using multiple-axis machining centers.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and write CNC programs for machining operations based on engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Set up and operate CNC machines to produce precision parts.
  • Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production team to optimize machining processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with CNC machines and programs.
  • Conduct quality control inspections using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and geometric dimensions and tolerances.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to share/divide work in a team environment.
  • Articulate in multiple forms of communication; must be proficient in MS Office
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and geometric dimensions and tolerances.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot CNC machinery.
  • Proficient in CNC programming languages and software.
  • Must have excellent problem-solving skills and attention to details.
  • Experience operating laser and turret machines
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies a plus
  • Familiarity with precision measuring tools such as micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines.

Experience:

  • 2 years in a production environment
  • CNC: 1 year (Preferred)
  • CNC programming: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Computer skills including MS Word & Excel, required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
