Description
Kennebec Valley Community Action Program (KVCAP), which seeks to strengthen individuals, families and communities through direct services and community collaborations that create solutions to poverty, is looking to hire a self-motivated full time Maintenance Technician/Custodian within our Facilities department. Working the hours of 7am to 3:30pm this position will be responsible for building maintenance by cleaning, painting, and doing minor repairs that includes performing a variety of carpentry duties, is responsible for exterior building maintenance including mowing lawns, weed control, snow removal, and cleaning. This position also substitutes for other custodial staff in their absence.
Requirements

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and three years' experience in maintenance and repair work.
  • A broad knowledge and understanding of carpentry.
  • One-year experience in general cleaning and sanitation practices.
  • Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of staff and client information.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to adjust work schedule according to weather conditions and/or as coverage is needed.
  • Flexible and willing to work on a variety of projects independently.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and have use of vehicle insured to State of Maine requirements.
  • Ability to pass State Bureau of Investigation, Department of Motor Vehicle, Department of Health and Human Services, Fraud and National Sex Offender Registry background checks.
