Jefferson Community College is Hiring an Assistant to the President Near Watertown, NY

Company Description

Jefferson Community College, located in Watertown, NY, is one of the 64 campuses in the State University of New York (SUNY) system and the only higher education institution within a 50-mile radius of Watertown. The college is supervised by SUNY and sponsored by Jefferson County. The area surrounding the college is primarily rural, with agriculture and tourism as the main industries. Over the years, the population in the Watertown metropolitan area has grown significantly due to the presence of the nearby Fort Drum.

Job Description

Jefferson Community College, Watertown, New York, part of the State University of New York (SUNY) System, is conducting a search for a full-time Assistant to the President. The Assistant to the President serves as a confidential aide to the President while leading the coordination of the daily affairs of the office and managing staff support for the President. The Assistant to the President also serves as the confidential Secretary to the Board of Trustees. The Assistant to the President provides senior level support and manages highly visible and complex projects and activities on behalf of the President and in support of the College’s strategic plan. The Assistant to the President will work with the College's leadership to advance the mission of the Strategic Plan 2020-2025. This is an in-person position.

Requirements

Required: Associate’s Degree required and a minimum of five years of professional experience working for a senior level executive. 

Applicants must interact and communicate effectively with diverse populations, foster inclusion, and promote equal access and treatment for groups traditionally under-represented in higher education.

Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Advertised Salary: $60,000 - $65,000/yr. for well-qualified individuals. Salary is determined based upon experience and education as well as internal equity. The College offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, vision, and dental insurance, long term disability, generous leave policies, paid holidays, pre-tax flexible spending accounts, tax-deferred Compensation, NYS retirement, as well as employee and dependent tuition waivers.
