Work Schedule: Monday -Thursday, 4 days per week (10 hours per day)6:15 am-4:45 pm The Heavy Equipment Operator will be required to use a backhoe/loader safely and effectively in the daily operation of water and sewer construction and maintenance. Operation of related equipment such as skid steer loaders, track loaders, large excavators, and dump trucks, will be on an as-needed basis. This position requires a Valid North Carolina Class A CDL driver's license. Applicant must be able to obtain license within 6 months of hire date to remain in position. All work will be performed utilizing demonstrated knowledge of OSHA trenching and shoring requirements, the "locate" color code system, and work zone safety. The heavy equipment operator must be prepared to work in all weather conditions, physically capable of lifting 50 lbs, bending, stooping, and kneeling. Must serve on an On-Call rotation. The job is NON-EXEMPT under FLSA.
