The Patient Sitter provides constant observation and monitoring of assigned patients to ensure safety and prevention of injury under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).

• Observes and monitors patient behavior and reports changes or concerns to the nursing staff. Accompanies patient off the unit for all tests or procedures.
• Evaluates patient environment for possible hazards and removes those hazards. Keeps patient room neat and orderly.
• Communicates frequently with patients, visitors, and co-workers. Promptly calls for assistance, as needed.
