Natural Systems Utilities is Hiring a Wastewater Operator Near Warren, MI

This is a fixed position located at the Warren Township Wastewater Treatment Facility. The operator is an independent well-organized self-starter able to manage his/her own time to complete assigned tasks in their given allotted time.
Duties And Responsibilities
  • Perform critical testing of facility operations, such as PH, dissolved oxygen, chlorine, etc., in order to monitor system performance.
  • Perform general preventative maintenance on treatment plant equipment such as blower oil, filter and belt changes pulling and inspecting submersible pumps, etc.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, legible records of all phases of facility operations.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, legible records of all equipment and plant maintenance.
  • Assist to prepare monthly written operating report based on facility’s operation and/or maintenance records for the client, employer or regulatory agency as required.
  • Inform Project Manager in a timely manner of plant problems, upsets, plant expansion, repairs, etc.
  • Work conscientiously, adhere to EH&S policies and processes, and be aware of safety hazards.
  • Participate in 24-hour on call rotation.
  • Be prepared to discuss in a professional manner the plant operations with employer, client, visitors, or regulatory personnel.
  • Collect required samples, log in samples correctly and accurately, and submit samples to laboratory and review results to ensure permit compliance.
  • Operate plants to meet all regulatory guidelines and responsibilities.
  • Assist maintenance personnel with removal of pump, blower, motor, valve, etc.
  • Maintain accurate records for gasoline, mileage, timesheets, expenses, etc.
  • Work scheduled weekends and occasional holidays for assigned plants.
  • Display a positive image to operators, clients, regulatory agencies, engineers, etc.
  • Confined Space Entry – this may be required on occasion after thorough training provided by NSU.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Must be 21 years of age or older with 1 year of wastewater experience, preferred
  • 40 hour work week: Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30 pm (30 minute lunch)
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays as requested
  • Overtime as required
  • Certificates, licenses, and registrations:
    • Valid Driver’s License.
    • NJ S-1 or Higher Wastewater license a plus.
