DUTIES:

Squadron provides direct support to all of CMXG, performing depot level processes in support of the F-15, C-5, C-17, C-130 and other aircraft. These processes include non-destructive inspections, electroplating, blasting, paint/depaint operations, and advanced metal finishes on PDM AND MISTR structural components routed throughout 402 CMXG. The squadron also provides tool crib support, expediting, equipment management, hazardous materials, TMDE calibration scheduling, kitting, and government purchase card services for all of CMXG. The primary purpose of this position is to exercise technical and administrative supervision over subordinate workers in accomplishing trades and labor work of the 571st Commodities Maintenance Squadron.

1. Performs work planning responsibilities. Plans on a weekly or monthly basis the use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials in an organizational segment or group.

2. Performs work direction responsibilities. Assigns work to individuals and provides technical direction and/or help in accomplishing difficult work steps and processes.

3. Performs administration responsibilities. Participates with employees in the development of performance plans. Advises employees in advance of performance expectations and explains new work techniques, as required.

4. Provides a work environment that is free from all forms of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. Supports the agency's EEO program through allocation of personnel to participate in community outreach and recruitment programs, ensures full cooperation of employees with EEO office officials

5. Ensures education in, compliance with, and practice of security directives, good safety, and health habits in all work areas.

RECRUITMENT KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA):

1. Knowledge of a wide range of principles, processes, and techniques of trade(s) and/or craft(s) supervised and personnel management policies, practices, and procedures, including sexual harassment and Equal Employment Opportunity/ Equal Employment Treatment.

2. Knowledge of safety regulations, practices, and procedures.

3. Knowledge of the use and maintenance of hand and power tools, equipment, and precision measuring and /or test equipment common to trades supervised.

4. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, sketches, and technical specifications.

5. Ability to plan and organize work assignments to include determining resources required to accomplish mission.

ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

1. May be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

2. Emergency overtime may be required.

3. The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate and valid driver's license may be required for the position.

4. As required, may train and/or guide other personnel in performance of 571 CMMXS/MXDXA equipment management, supply, and/or material handling/warehousing duties.

5. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.

6. This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by the employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
