DescriptionTrinity Solar is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our team in Wall, NJ. This is a fast-paced, structured process environment, and the ideal candidate should be comfortable working under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously with an emphasis on project safety, cost, quality and reliability.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop photovoltaic structural engineering plans, details, and calculations that are complete, accurate, and consistent with local, state, and federal engineering practices.
- Work cross functionally with other teams within and outside the engineering department to ensure clients’ needs and internal deadlines are met.
- Assist with preparation of design documents for project design including calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Stamp 50 letters per day for structural designs of solar projects.
- Coordinate structural related issues with electrical design team for solar projects.
- Provide engineering expertise in the design, analysis, and evaluation of solar projects.
- Work closely with other team members to ensure successful project completion.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation to support project designs.
- Maintain project schedules and be responsible for meeting project deadlines.
- Communicate effectively cross-organizationally.
- Continuously improve processes and systems to ensure optimal project outcomes.
- Licensed structural engineer with strong experience in the design of residential engineering projects, ideally with solar experience but not required.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license and willingness to obtain licenses in multiple states is required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural engineering.
- Experience with stamping structural designs for solar projects.
- Strong knowledge of codes and standards related to solar projects.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
