FERTILITY NURSE

Essential Functions

• Direct patient interaction and coordination of infertility testing and treatment plans, including IUI/IVF and cycles, and between patients and physicians.
• Telephone triage patient calls regarding medications, treatment plans, and test results.
• Maintain patient charting in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

Provide patient education and counseling on treatment protocols, medications, and infertility procedures.

• Responsible for accurate and timely communication of physician orders, instructions, and lab results to patients.
• Transcribe and transmit prescriptions per physician’s instructions
• Process prior authorizations and other insurance related tasks as needed.
• Assistance in examinations and various procedures
• Preparation of patients preparing to undergo IUI, IVF, frozen embryo transfers.
• Pre- and post-op care of patients having procedures (i.e., egg retrieval, embryo transfer, hysteroscopy, HSG, saline sonograms).
• Communicate with all staff, clinical, financial, and administrative, to provide highest level of quality patient care.
• Related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelors preferred or equivalent experience
• 3 to 5 years' experience working in a fertility practice preferred
• Certified or Registered MA or Registered Nurse - RN License

Major Responsibilities

• · Coordination of pre cycle testing plan and follow through with results with patients
• · Coordination of genetic testing and genetic counseling
• · Fertility treatment and IUI /IVF Cycle Coordination
• · Patient monitoring including reporting of results to patients
• · Interpret, and communicate laboratory values/test results, and timely clinical documentation
• · Collaborate with physician team in implementing fertility evaluation and treatment plans appropriate to individual patients
• · Patient education throughout treatment cycles, including counseling in fertility treatments (medications and injection instructions), consents, pregnancy, and general health education
• · Review and interpret diagnostic and treatment lab results for patients.
• · Evaluate and assess patients as needed throughout treatment for response to fertility treatment/medications/adverse effects/complications of therapy
• · Assist with and manage patients undergoing fertility procedures, including pre/post-op assessment
• Coordination of medication management and patient education for medication administration
• ACLS to be obtained within 30 days of employment

Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
