Responsibilities
We’re looking for a well-rounded digital filmmaker to lead our video-content-creation efforts that support our curriculum development, marketing, and customer-success objectives. Here are the key responsibilities of the position:
Video storytelling & documentary-style video production: These two are the core/foundational responsibilities of the job. You must excel at them. In this role you’ll be responsible for the end-to-end development of stand-alone video stories and long-format documentary style videos that are used in our various curricula and support the efforts of our marketing and customer support objectives. This involves:
Digital asset management/archiving: You will be responsible for the collecting and transferring of all digital files from memory cards to our in-house network, managing digitally archived content, and archiving non-digital legacy footage.

Reporting
Our Lead Digital Filmmaker/Producer day-to-day responsibilities are managed by our ministry’s Operations and Program Manager. At a project-level, you’ll report to various stakeholders, working on a variety of projects, primarily serving our VP of Marketing, or our VP of Customer Success, or partnering with our Sr. Writer and Content Developer to create curriculum and training materials. Each of them will provide feedback on your annual performance review (in addition to other team members).

Required character
This position plays a central role in a Christian ministry, so it is important that applicants possess saving faith in Jesus Christ, actively participate in and belongs to a local church, and consistently demonstrate Christlike character (Gal. 5:22 -25, 2 Pet. 1:5 - 9, Rom. 12:6 - 21).
Starting salary and benefits
The salary range for this position starts at $59,500 per year.
Benefits Summary
Group Health, Dental, & Vision Insurance
Group health, dental, and vision insurance coverage for you, if selected, is part of your compensation package. This means the ministry will pay the entire individual, or family, premium (100%) for Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage, but duplicate coverage is not supported. Our health insurance carrier is currently Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC. Our current plan does not have a mandatory waiting period and, if selected, coverage begins on the first day of employment.
There are medical payments for which you are responsible, but we have both an HSA and HRA (Health Savings or Reimbursement Account) plan to provide significant help. In addition to the employee’s HSA contributions, the ministry contributes up to $1,950 (family) or $975 (individual).

We realize that the information about our health plan might seem complex at first. We will be happy to review the details with you so that you have a better understanding of how it works. We will also work with you and the insurance company to submit all required documentation, should you elect coverage.
401k
The ministry offers a 401K plan that currently provides a 4% employer match for a 5% employee contribution each year. There is a six-month (within which 500 hours must be worked) waiting period.

Paid Holidays
Church Initiative provides its employees with the following 11 paid holidays, when they fall on a scheduled workday, or an alternative day off when falling on a weekend.:
Paid Vacation & Sick Leave
80 hours paid vacation leave each year, available as accrued. Please note, only a 40 hour balance for vacation leave is allowed to carry forward past the calendar year end. While the maximum balance is 40 hours, the carried forward balance can fluctuate between 40 and zero depending upon leave used and accrued each calendar year. After four years of continuous full-time service a third week of vacation is available for accrual and use.
Forty-eight (48) hours paid sick leave, available as accrued and approved. This equates to 2.00 sick leave hours accrued for each of the 24 payroll cycles. Please note, this leave does not vest, meaning leave not taken by January 1 of the succeeding year is lost.
Vacation and sick leave can be granted as earned and approved by your supervisor, subject to workflow requirements and ministry policy. The granting of leave before it is earned or accrued is considered on a case-by-case basis.
Serve & Grow
Full-time employees are eligible for up to 3 days paid time-off each calendar year to volunteer with an eligible non-profit or ministry, or to be used for Christian-based spiritual training, events, or mission trips.
Recuperative Maternity Leave
Birth mothers receive 4-6 weeks of recuperative leave up to 2/3 base pay.
Parental Bonding Leave
Birth, adoptive, and foster parents receive three weeks of 100% paid leave for use within 6 months of a birth or placement.
Bereavement
5 days paid time-off available for the loss of an immediate family member, mother-in-law, or father-in-law. Up to 15 additional days with approval.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Employees and their eligible family members have access to EAP services at no additional cost, including professional counseling, legal, financial, and work/life services.
