DAIKIN COMFORT TECHNOLOGIES MFG LP is Hiring a PROGRAM SPECIALIST Near Waller, TX

The Program Specialist is a key member of the Product Development PMO (Program Management Office). The bilingual, English/Japanese, position will be responsible for driving the initiation and coordination of project initiation documentation and Project Requirements Documentation (PRD) planning across all programs within the PMO. This position is also responsible for the planning and delivery of all Pre- Approval and Approval Meetings conducted for the PMO across all Programs. The incumbent will engage across multiple levels within the organization in both English and Japanese to ensure that the pre-approvers and approvers are aligned with and ready to participate in decision making activities.

  • Assist in the development of development of the Project Plans based on Product Road Map
  • Participate in the development of all PMO Project Overview planning sessions (Regulatory, HCM, PDM, etc.)
  • Lead the development of SG0 Project Planning Documentation
  • Lead the cross functional activities to ensure all PRDs are completed
  • Lead any required post-approval revisions to PRD and required re-approvals
  • Participate in After Action Reviews to ensure continuous learning and improvement in the PMO and Project Management activities
  • Provide guidance to the Project and Program Teams on the development of SG0 and PRD documentation
  • Assign and maintain PRD document numbers and manage PRD files
  • Plan or lead cross functional meetings and functions on behalf of the PMO or Project Teams
  • Participates on cross functional teams to launch products, resolve issues, and support product improvements
  • Develops and support efforts with defining project scope and timing
  • Participates in a series of independent reviews on active projects to review project milestones
  • Participate in additional projects/activities to support ongoing business needs
  • Manage the logistics and planning to support PMO planning meetings and functions
  • Plan and facilitate development and completion of Stage Gate 5 project reviews
  • Participate in additional projects to support ongoing business needs
  • Can effectively identify and resolve issues independently to complete assignments that may not have complete definition
  • Assists with improving and streamlining our processes and procedures
  • Effectively collaborates with other stakeholders ensuring project issues are resolved to achieve company-wide optimization
  • Works independently while meeting expectations
  • Uses knowledge and skills to accomplish required tasks and objectives
  • May train and mentor new employees, leads by example
  • Work cross-functionally with other departments to drive needed improvements
  • Demonstrated knowledge of principles, practices, theories, and methodologies associated with project management
  • HVAC experience is a distinct advantage
  • Strong working knowledge with MS Office – Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PM
  • Exceptional problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Effective organizational, time management and project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to develop and manage relationships.
  • Demonstrated detail orientation and drive for task completion
  • Ability to translate to/from Japanese and English is a key advantage
  • Knowledge of terminology used in the HVAC industry
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with teams and individuals
