Job Title: Mechanical Designer

Employment Type: 6 month contract to hire

Location: Waller, TX (onsite)

W2 Pay Range: $35-45/hr

Summary:

Akkodis is seeking a Mechanical Designer for a contract to hire position based in Waller, TX. This will be a fully onsite role. The desired candidate will have 3 years of sheet metal design using Creo. This key role is part of the engineering team and will provide concept designs and CAD models for DFM products. This is an exciting role with an industry leader!!!

Responsibilities:

• CAD modeling 3D and 2D Layouts by using Creo or Solid Edge
• New and existing product design for HVAC products
• Create concept designs
• Revising, editing, and updating changes to drawings based on revised sketches, notes, drawings, and verbal instruction
• Capability of Design for Manufacturability
• Tolerance Stack up analysis
• Ensure Fit and Form of new and existing design
• Supporting Engineering change from BOM and drawings standpoint
• Attention to details while creating new designs and working with Bill of materials.
• Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
• Interpersonal skills to coordinate with cross functional teams
• Managing the resolution of CAD related issues and tasks
• Being involved in troubleshooting/problem solving on constructability/design issues

Required Skills:

• Associates in CAD design or BS in Mechanical Design Engineering
• 3 years of CAD design for sheet metal applications
• REQUIRED - Proficiency in Creo and up (Pro-sheet metal, Pro-piping and Solid modeling)
• Proficiency in Solid edge and up (sheet metal, express route and Solid modeling)
• Experience in product design and engineering change process
• Experience in manufacturing and fabrication methods
• Experience with Bill of Material structures
• Good mechanical design and hands on background
• Fluent in dimensioning and tolerance stack up analysis
• Capable of designing mechanical system with help from design engineers
• Experience in CETOL (tolerance stack-up application) preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with HVAC or refrigeration preferred
