DescriptionJob Title: Practice Manager
Immediate Supervisor: Medical Group Board and MedMan Client Architect
Job Supervisory Responsibilities: All support staff
General Summary: An exempt management position responsible for managing the daily operations of medical practice.
Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Oversees daily office operations. Identifies and resolves operational problems. Delegates authority to assigned supervisors/leads.
  • Actively engage with the MedMan Client Services Delivery Team to ensure the practice's success.
  • Accountable for the recruiting, hiring, orientation, development, evaluation and discipline of staff.
  • Supervises personnel. Prepares payroll for employees.
  • Managing disputes and conflicts involving patients and staff
  • Develops, with input from key stakeholders, and implements clinic policies and procedures.
  • Develops guidelines for prioritizing work activities, evaluating effectiveness, and modifying activities as necessary. Ensures that office is staffed appropriately.
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly and year-end reports.
  • Participates in professional development efforts to ensure currency in health care practices and trends.
  • Establishes and maintains an efficient and responsive patient flow system.
  • Oversees and approves office supply inventory.
  • Negotiating with service providers, suppliers and medical sales representatives
  • Supports and upholds established policies, procedures, objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection control, and codes and requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA.
  • Performs other related duties as directed or required.
RequirementsEducation: High School Degree or equivalent required. Bachelors Degree or minimum of two years experience working in a medical practice as a lead or supervisor.
Experience: Minimum three years of healthcare experience.
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of medical practices, terminology, and reimbursement policies.
  • Knowledge of, and experience working with, an electronic health record (EHR)
Skills
  • Skill in planning, organizing, delegating, and supervising.
  • Skill in evaluating the effectiveness of existing methods and procedures.
  • Skill in problem solving.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication.
Abilities
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply policies and procedures.
  • Ability to set priorities among multiple requests.
  • Ability to interact with patients, medical and administrative staff, and the public effectively.
Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.
Work Environment: Position is in a well-lighted office environment. Occasional evening and weekend work.
Mental/Physical Requirements: Involves sitting approximately 90 percent of the day, walking or standing the remainder.
