NS2 Mission is Hiring a Data Scientist Near Virginia, VA
Required Skills And Experience
- Ability to code in Python and leverage a variety of data analysis packages to include Pandas and/or Polars.
- Experience working with distributed computing frameworks like Spark, data engineering technologies like Airflow, and a broad familiarity with contemporary database options.
- Experience visualizing results from Exploratory Data Analysis and presenting findings to a customer.
- Experience working with a software development team, software engineering best practices, and applying the results from a data science project to lightweight applications.
- Experience developing machine learning models from inception and design, training, and testing, and through deployment.
- Extensive knowledge of appropriate analytic methods and methodological tools in one or more of the following areas:
- Applied Mathematics (e.g., probability and statistics, formal modeling, computational social sciences)
- Computer Programming (e.g., programming languages, math/statistics packages, computer science, machine learning, scientific computing)
- Visualization (e.g., GIS/geospatial analysis, telemetry analysis)
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, Data Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
- On-the-job experience exhibiting communication skills, both oral and written, as well as making presentations to small audiences
- Experience with Python
- Experience with network architecture
- Experience with risk assessments, methodologies, and scoring
- Experience working independently
