Sterling Engineering is Hiring a Controls Engineer Near Village, IL
Salary range: Up to $110,000 (commensurate with experience and qualifications)
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and develop control systems for automated production lines, integrating components from various manufacturers.
- Program and configure programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and other industrial automation equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into effective control solutions.
- Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of control systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Provide technical support and training to operators and maintenance personnel.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system efficiency and productivity.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologies in the field of industrial automation.
- Travel up to 25% of the time to support on-site installations and maintenance activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience in programming and troubleshooting industrial control systems.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as ladder logic, structured text, and other relevant languages.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities (team player).
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry trends.
