Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Optometrist to join our team. As an Optometrist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services to patients of all ages. This includes conducting eye exams, diagnosing and treating visual impairments, prescribing corrective lenses, and educating patients on proper eye care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive eye exams to assess visual acuity and detect any abnormalities or diseases
- Diagnose and treat visual impairments, such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia
- Prescribe and fit corrective lenses, including glasses and contact lenses
- Provide post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices and the importance of regular eye exams
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as ophthalmologists, to provide coordinated patient care
- Stay informed about advancements in optometry techniques and technologies
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of optometry principles and practices
- Proficient in performing comprehensive eye exams
- Familiarity with aseptic technique in the examination room
- Knowledge of ophthalmology procedures and treatments
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and confidentiality
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to build rapport with patients of all ages
- Ability to accurately measure vital signs related to eye health
- Experience working with all age patients and addressing their unique vision needs
- Proficient in medical record documentation using electronic health record systems (Epic preferred)
- Knowledge of anatomy related to the eyes and visual system
