HIBISCUS YOUTH’S CENTER POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Career Pathways Coordinator Program: Village Reports to: Director of Village Operations

POSITION FUNCTION/OVERVIEW: The purpose of the position is to direct and coordinate a Career Orientation, Employment Training and life skill development program for Foster Youth. Organize and facilitate collaborations with local business partners. Identify and work with teens to participate in and complete the defined program which is to prepare at risk youth for independent living and to identify career paths. PRIMARY

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: ➢ Promote the mission, values and vision of Hibiscus Youth’s Center ➢ Work with community partners to facilitate and ensure execution of their roles. ➢ Organize and arrange the program curriculum to identify, train and prepare volunteer mentors to work with the youth. ➢ Arrange interviews among Hibiscus clients from the residential program to identify program participants. ➢ Liaise among program participants - clients, mentors and community partners to ensure program continuity. ➢ Administer initial assessments and interpret results with each client. ➢ Assist with organizing and executing training sessions on specific topics such as personal finance and the work environment (applications, interviews, work habits) in conjunction with community partners. ➢ Organize and work with community partners and mentors so clients participate in activities such as job fairs, vocational programs or other educational events. ➢ Organize and facilitate pre-employment training, internships, seminars and workshops. ➢ Counsel and support individual clients as they progress through the program; conduct focus groups with them. ➢ Work with clients on interpersonal skills, planning, problem solving and other life skills. ➢ Prepare and conduct the three-tier interview process with clients. ➢ Oversee and execute program evaluation procedures. ➢ Assist in identifying ongoing funding sources and assist with grant preparation and grant presentations. ➢ Write articles, press releases on program achievements. ➢ Maintain ongoing relationships with funding sources, community partners and providers who work with transitional clients (18 – 23 years). ➢ Act as liaison to funding sources, community/board committees, and other sources as appropriate. ➢ Develop and maintain statistics on program achievements and transformational goals for clients. ➢ Provide Ansell-Casey assessments for all youth in the program. ➢ Attend Independent Living Skills staffing’s. ➢ Attend all permanency reviews on youth in program. ➢ Participate in all youth treatment team meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: ➢ Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Education; Graphic Design; or related Services field. Must have at least two to three years graphic design experience. ➢ Experience in developing program materials, organizing details and procedures; must be able to follow procedures ➢ Experience working with the business community on collaborative projects ➢ Experience working with at risk teenagers ➢ Must be able to maintain flexible work schedule ➢ Public speaking skills ➢ Experience with statistical analysis and evaluation measurements ➢ Meets requirements to operate agency vehicles, including valid Florida Driver’s License

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $39,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
