We are a female owned, general dentistry private practice looking for a dedicated, hard working, and caring dental assistant. Our office setting is welcoming and relaxing!
Experience:
- Previous experience working as a dental assistant or in a similar role is preferred
- Familiarity with dental terminology, procedures, and insurance processes is a plus
- Proficiency in using phone systems and computer software for scheduling appointments and managing patient records
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
**Job Overview:**
We are seeking a skilled Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures, and help to ensure efficient and quality dental care for patients.
Part-time: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 9-1pm with future opportunities for additional hours.
**Responsibilities:**
- Prepare patients for dental work
- Sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Assist dentists during procedures by handing them instruments and anticipating their needs
- Instruct patients on postoperative and general oral healthcare
- Take and develop dental X-rays
- Take intraoral impressions and pour models
- Maintain accurate patient records and schedule appointments
**Skills:**
- Proficiency in dental software for managing patient records
- Ability to operate X-ray machines and perform dental imaging procedures
- Familiarity with Dentimax or similar dental practice management software
- Understanding of medical records management
- Capable of conducting patient assessments and providing appropriate care
- Knowledge of infection control protocols in a dental setting
