Rebound Orthopedics and Neurosurgery is Hiring a Nurse Practitioner (Medical Clearance) - Part-Time Near Vancouver, WA

The hourly wage offered for this position is $48.00 - $80.00.:
Rebound is the largest orthopedic and neurosurgical practice in the Portland-Vancouver area with an array of subspecialties including orthopedics, neurosurgery, sports medicine, physiatry, hand therapy, and physical therapy and have over 50 years of service to our patients and the community. We are proud to be the team physicians for the Portland Trail Blazers, the Portland Winterhawks, and several collegiate teams.
Rebound is looking for a part-time Nurse Practitioner to join our amazing Outpatient Total Joint Program in Vancouver, WA. The Nurse Practitioner will provide Medical Clearance examinations for patients under consideration for outpatient total joint procedures. The goal of this position is to ensure that the patient is medically stable to proceed with ambulatory total joint replacement surgery. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled, dedicated to operational effectiveness, enjoy patient care/interaction and providing quality patient care and quality assurance. The candidate will also enjoy working in an expanding, fast-paced, and busy clinical environment. This is a part time position that will work 16 hours a week.
Responsibilities:
  • Assess the physical condition of patients to medically optimize for surgery. This includes providing the physical examination, diagnosis, and developing a healthcare plan which may include referring the patient for consultation to a specialized health resource.
  • Document the medical history, findings and proposed patient management plan.
  • Consult with Physician(s) regarding patient assessment outcomes, plans and transfer of care.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests, including EKG to identify and assess patients' clinical problems and health care needs, any further follow up needed prior to surgery.
  • Comply with medical records policies regarding the complete and accurate documentation of patient care. Initiate and maintain required records and legal documents.
  • Counsel patients, families and significant others about health and illness, and promote health maintenance.
  • Establish and document the health care plan and prognosis for each patient to provide sufficiently complete medical records within 1 week of exam for anesthesia and physician review.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with Outpatient Total Joint Program Manager to facilitate patient needs, care, and implement a plan based on best practice.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and abide by all HIPAA rules and regulations.
Requirements: :.
  • Current Nurse Practitioner License in Washington with Prescriptive Privileges (NP-PP) required.
  • National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner required.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in medical clearance preferred.
  • Strong EKG interpretation/evaluation skills.
  • Current BLS or ACLS certification.
  • Success establishing and maintaining effective professional relationships with patients, physicians, staff, outside facilities and the public.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong technical skills, EHR experience.
