Food Pantry Assistant.
Reports to Facilities Director and Food Pantry Supervisor.
Full time: Monday - Friday, 07:30am – 04:00pm.
Pay rate: $17.28 - $18.00
Responsibilities:
· The Food Pantry Associate works as a team member with several social service professional and paraprofessional staff performing duties and providing support to program staff and clients.
· The Food Pantry Associate ensures that pantry operation and service is performing optimally.
· The Food Pantry Associate works at a fast pace in a dynamic environment and will be required to lift, move, and carry heavy items of up to 50 pounds.
· The Food Pantry Associates key areas of responsibility and duties include:
· Operation of food pantry and supporting food pantry service.
· Maintain and manage food inventory and pantry storage space.
· Assist and manage pantry clients.
· Assist and support pantry volunteers or case managers.
· Ensure data and documentation is correctly maintained.
· Lift, move and carry heavy bags (approximately 50-60 pounds) of produce and crates to facilitate stocking and storage.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Set-up and clean-up before and after pantry operating hours.
· Make sure the pantry is presentable.
· Restock food, put away refrigerated items and dispose of expired items.
· Support and help determine daily distribution amounts.
· Perform monthly deep cleaning of the pantry (e.g., sweep and mop walk-in refrigerator, clean milk crates, clean produce racks, and sweep pantry storage)
· Clean and organize the pantry storage space.
· Rotate and distribute food in a timely manner.
· Keep the food pantry office fully stocked to make room in the pantry storage for basement stored donations.
· Maintain an organized and open space that ensures there is always available storage for drop-off of new donations.
· Ensures all food or beverages are distributed and organized in a timely manner.
· Coordinate general operational activities in conjunction with ONEgeneration food assistance programs.
