Blue Origin is Hiring a NDT Level II Technician Near Van Horn, TX
This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.
As a vital member of our diverse and dedicated technician team, your role involves conducting nondestructive testing to detect flaws, discontinuities, leaks, and imperfections in aircraft materials, components, and assemblies. You will conduct test activities, maintain testing equipment, and record results in compliance with established specifications. Additionally, you will provide technical support to the quality engineering (QE) functions, performing nondestructive examination (NDE) and quality control (QC) inspections at various stages of the production process. Your analytical skills will be crucial in capturing and analyzing statistical data, allowing for compliance confirmation and identification of deviations from standards. Furthermore, your input in recommending new or improved methods, procedures, and standards will be valued in maintaining and enhancing our quality and reliability standards.
Van Horn SiteBeing at the heart of Blue Origin operations, the West Texas Site in Van Horn, TX offers eligible employee’s additional attractive financial incentives to supplement their competitive base earnings, including a living allowance and relocation assistance. Eligibility for these additional benefits is based on the employee’s ability to permanently relocate to Van Horn, TX, or travel to Van Horn from another Blue location a minimum of 50% of the time.

- Inspect critical flight hardware for various spaceflight systems.
- Share in the team’s impact on all aspects of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) using multiple inspection methods seeking toward flawless product delivery.
- Apply various NDT methods for inspection, including Radiography, Liquid Penetrant, Eddy Current, Ultrasonics, Visual, and Shearography testing.
- Must hold level II certification in Radiography as well as Liquid Penetrant.
- Provide previous OJT training and certification documentation.
- Confirmed skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
- Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
- Meet minimum Vision Requirements:
- Near Vision: Either 20/25 (Snellen) at 16" or Jaeger No. 1 at not less than 12”
- Color Perception: 14 Plate Ishihara Color Test with a minimum of 12 panels correctly identified.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
- Level II PT certification in dye penetrant methods
- Level II RT certification in X-Ray/Gamma Ray methods
- Experience or certification in Eddy current (ET), Ultrasound (UT) and Shearography (ST) a plus
- AWS-CWI or equivalent certification/experience in visual weld inspection and welder qualification.
