CMS Construction is seeking a Quality Control Manager to join our team! You will oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation. Please only apply for this position if you have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a QC Manager on federal projects over $4M.
Job Description: QC Manager

• Supervise total construction effort to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule. Includes interfacing with client representatives, architectural/engineering, and subcontractors. Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily onsite functions such as subcontractor scheduling, production, and workmanship. Position has the potential to oversee one or more jobs/areas at a time and may require travel. Project is located on an active US military base, so applicants will be required to pass a government background check. The QC Manager position may also require some minor labor duties "working" such as site cleanup, protect in place, touch-up/ punch list items, or picking up materials for workers.

Responsibilities
•Lead in implementing the three phases of Quality Control: Preparatory, Initial, and Follow-up.
•Control the daily technical and administrative functions of the USACE RMS/QSC system.
•Coordinating third-party testing agents as outlined in the quality control plan.
•Preparing, implementing, and managing the Quality Control plan for each job.
•Preparing and completing daily Quality Control reports.
•Ensuring all Quality Control (QC) activities occur in a timely fashion in accordance with the project's schedule.
•Manage project close-out/Red Zone to ensure completion before project completion.
•Ability to coordinate, document, and enforce safety and health on various construction site projects.
Qualifications
•Certificate in the successful completion of the Construction Quality Management for Contractors (CQM-C) course.
•An undergraduate degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management is preferred.
•5 plus years of construction experience, a minimum of 3-5 years in a CQCM role.
•Experience in large-scale construction management or construction trade with increasing levels of responsibility.
•Federal government construction experience (Air Force, Corps of Engineers, and NAVFAC) a plus.
•Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully; develop alternative solutions; works well in group problem-solving situations; use reason when dealing with emotional topics.
•Write clearly and informatively; edit work for spelling and grammar; varies writing style to meet needs; presents numerical data effectively; able to read and interpret written information.
•Manage difficult customer situations; responds promptly to customer needs; solicits customer feedback to improve service; responds to requests for service and assistance; meets commitments.
•Speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, listens, gets clarification, and responds well to questions.
•Proficient computer experience including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Procore, and Microsoft project scheduling, RMS 3.0 (USACE contracts) required.
•Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with others.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test/physical/background check.
• Maintain clean record to ensure GOV. badging/background checks.

Work Locations:
•Out-of-town travel may be required on projects located at but not limited to Naval Base Ventura County and Military Ocean Terminal Concord. Travel expenses covered by CMS include housing, flights, and fuel.
•Other locations may include but are not limited to: Southern California and Northern California.
4/10 or 5/8 Schedule dependent on job location. $110K - $160K salary depending on qualifications and experience.
