Arctic Slope Native Association is Hiring a Housing Specialist I Near Utqiagvik, AK

Brief Summary:

Provide administrative support services for the ASNA Housing Department. Assist in the coordination of Indian Health Services-controlled and ASNA leased housing. Responsible for ensuring quality control for unit readiness.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist with housing unit assignment to ensure efficient onboarding of staff and minimal unnecessary unit vacancy.
  • Complete or coordinate tenants move-in and move-out inspections and other routine inspections to ensure program compliance and quality maintenance of facilities.
  • Communicate with Off-site Facilities to ensure apartments are cleaned and maintenance is performed as needed.
  • Coordinate with moving companies for new permanent employees. Collect receipts and create check requests.
  • Communicate and coordinate with the Off-site Facilities team for maintenance staff to conduct annual fire extinguisher/detector inspections.
  • Ensure that tenants receive appropriate notices and sign acknowledgements regarding handbooks, tenancy rules and expectations.
  • Collect and maintain tenant information files.
  • Coordinate with Off-site facilities team regarding deposits.
  • Maintain inventory of unit vacancy and readiness status.
  • Provide administrative support on projects to create efficiency in the housing process.
  • Foster a smoothly functioning, efficient organization through timely and effective resolution of disruptions.
  • Relay pertinent information to accounting regarding rent, leases and deposits.
  • Work to find solutions in on-boarding to housing in an efficient manner.
  • Enter rental information into IHS’s rent calculating system, iQMIS; create leases for tenants with this information and relay to accounting.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required with two years of college/vocational training in administrative support, housing coordination, or related training.
  • Five years of related experience or equivalent combination of experience and training.

Certification/Licensure:

Valid Alaska Driver’s License that meets ASNA insurance criteria within ninety (90) days of hire.
