Position SummaryJob DescriptionThe Data Center Technician position is responsible for the day-to-day operation of real-time transaction wagering systems used by the state Lottery. An Operator will monitor status of and operate all computer systems in accordance with established schedules and quality guidelines. This position will also support field staffs with troubleshooting and problem resolution.
Job Functions
  • Ability to work a regularly scheduled day shift operations shift (5:15am – 5:15pm), 7-days on then 7-days off.
  • Operate all SG computer systems in accordance with established schedules and quality guidelines
  • Strong attention to detail is required to ensure all aspects of the operational environment are maintained
  • Log routine activities and report or promptly escalate problems to management for resolution
  • Ability to work with SG field service staff, members of retailer base and Lottery staffs to troubleshoot and resolve different situations
  • Other duties as assigned
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Demonstrates ability to learn and support several aspects of function. Handles routine activities.
QualificationsPosition Requirements/Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or GED
  • Prior experience with LINUX and/or Microsoft products, and Windows based systems.
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand new terms and technologies
  • Strong time management skills
  • Personal punctuality and dependable job attendance
Skills/Abilities
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management
  • Must have average organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, and stretch at a minimum of 50% of the time for any or all of the movements described.
