JOB SUMMARY
In addition to performing all the functions of a Laboratory technician, the Lead Technician provides direct supervision of Lab Technician I staff and Lab Technician II staff on the respective shift, and coordinates functions and activities in his/her assigned departments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience: At least five (5) years previous venipuncture experience in an acute hospital or healhcare setting in related work, and at least five (5) years previous experience as a laboratory technician in an acute hospital.
Knowledge and Skills: In addition to the requirements for Lab Technician I and II, the Lead Technician will demonstrate leadership abilities and possess strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
License/Certifications: State approved phlebotomy certificate.
Equipment: Various automated testing instruments.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.
PAY RANGE
$21.53 - $30.26
The posted pay range reflects the lowest to highest pay that was available for this position at the time of posting and may be subject to change. Salary offers are determined by candidate’s relevant experience and skills. For per diem positions, a standard rate is used based on market data and not the candidate’s individual experience.
