JOB TITLE
Heavy Equipment operator
JOB PURPOSE
Operate heavy power construction equipment required to maintain, repair, excavate, or erect the University's grounds, buildings, and structures.
This position has been deemed essential as addressed in the University of Wyoming's Employee Handbook. Employees in essential positions may be required to work during emergency closures and winter closure based on the nature of their job duties and the reasons for the closure.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
work with contractors needing crane operation assistance.
Prepare the crane rigging and determine if the crane operation work is safe; if work is determined by the Heavy Equipment Operator to not be safe (high winds, weight limitations, high electrical wires, too confined an area, unsafe to property or life, etc.
the Heavy Equipment Operator has the authority to call off the crane operation.
Perform manual labor such as digging, shoveling concrete or asphalt, removal of concrete or asphalt, or other related duties as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS
Assist with garbage collection and campus cleanup crews as necessary.
COMPETENCIES
REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY
This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education : High School Diploma or GED, plus completion of related technical or vocational education / training
Experience : 2 years work-related experience
