The Supplier Quality Technician will perform moderately complex inspection of supplied parts or materials, as well as audits to assure established standards of quality are maintained. The selected candidate will leads containment efforts, troubleshooting and contribute to 8D problem solving process.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Inspect PCBAs per request following IPC standard
- Support Repair team to disposition the rejected PCBAs
- Assist with defective material containment activities
- Coordinates on site sorting activities with external parties (suppliers/CM or 3rd party sorting contractors)
- Initiate contact with CMs to request RMA for defective material
- Responsible for initial disposition of defective material and classifying material as Itron or CM liability
- Assist with in process audits with deep focus on defect occurrence: where the defect is being generated, how, how many, how frequently, etc (compose a 5W3H)
- Create Quality Awareness
- Creation and update of Quality documentation i.e., procedures, acceptance criteria and test plans as needed
- Support 8D problem solving teams as an active team member
- Interpret and apply IPC-A-610 Class 2 standard
Required Skills & Experience:
- 3-5 years as a Quality Technician or similar role in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
Education: Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Printed circuit board repair experience preferred
- Surface Mount Technology line experience preferred
- IPC 6 standard knowledge preferred
